Rail Explorer
Rail Explorer aims to revolutionize the role of trains in local transportation and promote equity, inclusivity, and sustainability by offering a unique and thrilling way for people to explore their communities. It is designed to ensure that everyone, regardless of income, free time, or mobility, can have access to travel and discovery.
Compared to the inconvenience of flights and traffic, train travel has a unique charm and human touch. In light of the pressing concerns surrounding climate change, it is essential to choose sustainable modes of transportation like trains. This has led governments to allocate record-breaking investments towards rail infrastructure, creating opportunities for innovation to reimagine what rail transportation could be.
Rail Explorer has three main components: the key fob, planning hub, and immersive cabin experience. The key fob allows users to interact with every touchpoint, such as paying fare, initiating the planning hub, and saving experiences from the cabins. The planning hub encourages spontaneous travel by allowing users to show up and experience something unexpected. The main cabin uses transparent OLED display windows to immerse explorers in the possibilities of experiences in their own backyard.
